Default Turbos and the Bay Area

Anyone here from the Cali. Bay area? I'm thinking of dropping a turbo in my car and was wondering if anybody here has been harrassed by law enforcement because of their turbos.

I'm thinking I might have to run an SC instead for these reasons (smog and cops)

Thanks.

i'm in san jose and milpitas area mainly. Cops don't harrass me because i do'nt do anything to be noticed. I have clear corners, and no front license plate either. My exhaust is pretty deep, a little deeper than a power extreme. just don't attract attn to yourself and you're all good.

most people think an IC is just a radiator... only someone thats in the know and pays attention will spot it..

Hey BoostinGSR, what kind of turbo you runnin? Drag3? I live in fremont, and only had my hood popped once. But I just happend to be pulled over by the most dicktest cop in fremont PD. Most of the other cops don't really bother. Unless your racing around, or have a loud *** exhuast.

nah, he was some black guy. He's the only black cop I've seen in fremont PD uniform. Drag2 ? boostin GSR, do you remove the turbo before smog? I'm thinking about running the greddy kit with IC, and Bov. gonna setup it up so it'l look steath mode from outside I want the drag3, but don't want to have to remove the whole turbo when smog comes around. With the greddy, I can just remove the pipes going to the IC, and put the original pipes for the turbo kit back on for smog. I'm also going to make a cap type deal to go over the BOV hole when I need to remove the BOV for smog too. I hope a setup like that will be less of an issue when its time for smog.

this is whut i think...

some cops who are dicks pull you over cause they are a buncha freakin haters and they got nothing better to do!

i drive around the bay alot. there are so many damn cops around.

i get paranoid when i see a cop cause i know im guilty! DRAG 3 baby!!

i got a combat CL conversion... with no grills... so basically... my intercooler is BLING BLINGin and the its so damn noticable.

what you should be worrying about... it basically... keepin a low profile. dont do anything that will attract a popo's attention. loud exhaust and no front license plate are the main ones. i have a loud exhaust and no front license plate.. so im pretty susceptible to gettin pulled over. i recommend gettin a quiet deep exhaust and mounting the front license plate somewhere cool just to play it safe.

i have not gotten pulled over yet... but everytime i drive on the streets and i see a police car.. i get scared as fawk! hahah its no joke man... these "import hatin task force" are on a mission... especially in fremont and san jose.
