As for your second point fiction. that means he's not torquing them down properly. many of us, (including myself, have been on the same arp rod bolts on Eagle H-beamsfor over 10 years on the same set). You have to go by ARP's specifications for torque down unlike OEM.

Another option available, used Borg Warner EFR-7670. Not sure of the exact specs yet, the guy will get back to me. Based on the little research I have done, this seems to have an internal wastegate & an integrated dumpvalve.
How will this work. I've always been led to believe that an internal wastegate isn't a good option for high powered turbo application. I already have a ramhorn manifold btw.

No. Not necessarily. The 7670 runs about 58lbs/min with a peak spike of about 64lbs/min (though it takes a LOT of pressure to get there). You can run either internal or external wastegate for it, it just has to be chosen to not have it as an option.
The wastegate valve is at minimum 36.23mm or the larger one (which I believe the 7670 comes in, ) is 42.16mm, with over 50 degrees of valve motion;so using the internal gate works pretty well for this turbocharger, when it can bleed off enough boost (The wastegate porthole is ported and smoothed from the factory, so you're good there.. ) But you want to push this turbo to the 18-25psi level. these EFRs like to be pushed hard to be of any benefit. 7670 EFRs use Ceramic ball-bearings which are both a benefit, and a detriment.
What you're getting is misinformation from most of the people believing that internal gates inherently bad; yeah, only if the flapper door is small and you're trying to run low boost pressures from it with too low an actuator. The
The actual measurements are 55.88 inducer (57mm inducer is stated), with a 79.883 exducer (76mm is stated from literature). But the length of the compressor wheel is VERY TALL, which means it can convert a lot of airflow into pressurized air in a small package.
These are an expensive turbocharger, but has more of the characteristics similar to that of a modified GT3076R (possibly in the GTX3076R category). This means that it will also come in a T3 .76A/R twin scroll design... (Yes, people, I said it... because this time it is), and is good for mainly street attack above 2.0 litres and above, with occasional drag strip use. But if it needs repairing, you're better find one good Borg-Warner authorized facility, as it will not be cheap or as easy as with the Garrett line in South Africa.
So, in my opinion, the EFR is a better turbo option than what you 're looking at, just be prepared to dip into the pocketbook a bit more.

Turns out the guy with the BW, if he even has one, is full of b/s. I think he was using this BW as a gateway to try & sell me a small, reconditioned Turbonetics that would probably not be much better than my Precision, & at a premium.
So short of going the custom Garrett route, it seems my choices are limited.
Unless I can be pointed in the right direction with regards to sourcing a turbo in the US. A friend is on holiday in Houston & he is bringing back a whole lot of stuff, so I can add this in there. Any ideas? Used is good, but in perfect condition.

Used ones get beat up here in the U.S quite a bit, and for the cost of the rebuild, in many cases it is better to get a new one.

There is a guy who bought a Turbonetics T61 non-ballbearing from a local performance parts shop. They sold this T61 to the guy for a 1.8T Audi???!!! He's obviously finding it to be far too big. I have confirmed with the shop that this purchase was made about a month ago.
These are the specs he gave me, that he got from the shop. He does not know any different and the turbo is on his car, so difficult to tell until he removes it.
T61, a/r .70 compressor, a/r .58 exhaust (so obviously T4), F1-62.
I think this will work well for me, but I'm no expert.
He is prepared to do a direct swap for my SC32. They are worth about the same, so I don't really lose anything. All I will need to do is get a T4 flange for my ramhorn manifold.
Go for it?
