To backup the need for dynotuning, when i dynoed my JRSC b16, that particular engine like to engage vtec at 5k rpm for the smoothest power curve. On my friends car, who we prepped identically to mine, the dyno revealed that his car liked to engage vtec at 4k rpm for the most linear power curve. So basically, no 2 engines are the same, what someone tells you for their settings may end up grenading your engine due to a over rich/too lean condition.

Thou shalt not set the VAFC to 2.
Nor shalt thou set it to 4.
5 is right out.
