turbo for type r ?????
there is no such thing as a decent priced turbo...look to pay about $6000 at least at the end of the day... DRAG, FMAX,REV HARD, GREDDY, APEX'I, TOP FUEL...all make kits for the Integra...for the R, you may need to fabricate parts on some kits, but all of the fudemntal parts from a GSR will fit...
well...if you want a solid system, you will want a stand alone fuel system ($1000-$2500 depending on the type), larger injectors ($100-$500), some kind of detonaton solution ($150 for a simple timing retard type of device to $1000 for a set of low compression pistons, which is always best).
You can always just install the kit as-is...but you can ask anyone here, you will always want more later, even if you think you don't now, you will be forced to...more power=more money ...at the end of the day, unless you have the know how to do a Home Depot job on your parts...your install will cost a lot more than just the kit...

What about if I only wanted about 7 lbs of boost on stock internals. Then, shouldnt I be able to pick up a kit or piece my own for around 3k and install it myself?

Yeah, right. For an kick *** setup you need at least 7000 USD. Think about you need exhaust, injectors, fuel pump, standalomne and stuff too.
Look to pay a LEAST $6000 fo a safe setup ...I wouldn't fabricate any fuel solution on an R...go stand alone, or you will be paying much more for repairs in the future.

Don't forget the cost of TUNING and INSTALLING IT!
That could be close to another grand.

need injectors with that!!.....stock injectors won't cut it...not even at 5psi!...so that's like $1200 to $1500 n top of the turbo kit already....what are you going to do to lower the compression?? That's a must too!
