hey guys .....just wonderign whta u guys think i should do its goign into a 99 hatch.......and what parts exactly do i need to turbo my engien be specific plz...and to rebuild my bottom end? any help would be appreciated and should 10 thousand be enough to rebuild my bottom end turbo.... and get my car in low 12's? oh **** btw i have the r motor already should i sell?

I think your username is a little biased lol

GSR lower compression which is better, but with money you can build either to handle a good amount of boost.

gsr, first off its about 1,500 dollers cheaper sometimes more then that. and since your going to rebuild why get the type r engine.

and second of all compression is a bit high on the type r engine. thats why you dont see companies like greddy making a turbo kit for the type r. don't get me wrong though, the greddy kits can work on the type r engine but i dont think its recomended. have to have really good fuel management, or high octane gas.

It all depends on how much $$$ you're willing to spend. It's not uncommon to see R motors with stock internals and good tuning put out 270 HP. I would suggest going with a C1 for boosting, that way you save some $$$ if you intend on rebuilding the motor.

You won't get good numbers on type R internals...the pistons are very intolerant to boost, BUT if you can get it right or get forged internals...a turbo R is incredible!

Did anyone notice that he said he wants to build the bottom end?? I say go type R if you can afford it. The flywheel,Crank,tranny,Head, is all better for boost in my opinion. I am running a bone stock type r head as far as port,polish,throttle body and intake manifold and made 565whp. I am biased too since I run a type r motor in my car.

look below in my sig, thats on a bone stock itr motor with 8psi on pump gas and not alot of timing .
i am biased too
i have seen c1s though on not alot of boost in Incognitos EG go 11.47 full interior.

Having tuned both types of engines, the gsr will make a little less power. For the money the gsr is a better buy. If you are going to rebuild the block, go with the gsr since you are replacing the internals. When i think of a rebuild, I think head work and bottom end work. The type r head will no doubt outflow the gsr head, which is going to make a significant amount more power. I believe I have 3,500 into my fully built 2.0 gsr bottom end, with extensive head work. Add another 1500.00 for the tranny, and your around 5,000.00 for the entire built swap.

Terrys motor was an LsVtec turbo, just sayin whats true, and back to the topic, if yer going to build the motor, AND u already have an R motor, build the R motor.. just my $0.02

If your gonna build only the bottom end get the type r motor. The head flows better than a gsr and would be better with boost.

I would say the GS-R.
I wouldn't feel special about a 300whp type R, mitsubishi 4g63's have No vtec, little cams, 58mm throttle bodys, and heads that do not flow that great, and they can easily make 500whp on a stock motor.

i'm confuse does he or does he not have the type r motor already? well if you have type r already stick with that and build it lower comp a lil cause type r has high comp, higher risk of detnation. if not get the gsr, it's cheaper your gonna ditch the enternal to rebuild anyways..... if have type r already keep it, if not gsr...

Thanks guys.......**** i have some other stupid *** question haha im such a noob sorry.....umm is it reliable a turbo on a street car and **** like that i went to a pretty well known shop and .....thye said yeah ....but your car wont be a daily driver anyoen with boosted daily driver .............and what turbosetup
i need help with that any number etc........i can call...u guys know any good shops in california near sacremento .........thats where ill be this summer

if its tuned right it can be very reliable. when you mod any car that muchthough youll have little quarks. its normal . like sometimes mine will idle low and **** for a few minutes. but no big deal you get used to stupid **** like that
