Default turbo trim question

this dude is selling a garrett t3 turbo. he says the trim is "a/r.60 a/r.98" i dont understand what that means or if he is even right. i thought the a/r was the width of the turbo and compressor or something like that. also isnt the trim totally different from the a/r? if u can help me out that would be great thanks

The a/r is like exducer/inducer or something to that effect.

Trim is basically the size of the housing.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I was just going from memory there, don't just say no. That is a stupid response. Correct my error would be a lot more informative. I forget things like this on a daily basis no matter how many times I read them. Help me out here.

Alright did a little reading. Let me see if this is correct, the trim size is determined by the inducer and exducer of the compressor wheel and the A/R is more like this

"(A) and the distance from the center of the "tube" to the turbine shaft (R). The values by themselves are not meaningful to the user and for the most part, R does not change much for different housings, but by dividing R into A, you get the A/R ratio. So, the A/R ratio of the exhaust housing refers to the size and shape of the scroll that is cast into the housing. It basically determines how restrictive the housing will be, versus how quickly the turbine will spin up."

sorry i was short on time. The thing with either of those specs is that they don't really tell you much without knowing the wheel sizes. It all relative. Generally though you find the bigger T3 compressor wheels in a .60 a/r cover so maybe its a a 60trim or something, as for the .98 a/r i have never seen that number on a t3.
