turbo timer problems
hey everyone, i hope you can help me out w/this bc i couldnt find the answr to this particualar problem. well, this is w/a HKS timer and i forgot the model # and dont have the manual anymore, but its the one w/the blue and red display. heres the problem: started the car this am and the display had these wierd dashes going across it, so i went to turn the car off and the car wouldnt turn off, none of the buttons on the timer would work, and the keys were out and i tried putting the e-brake down to turn it off which always works and nothing worked. so, after about 20mins the car finally turned itself off somehow. by then, i had torn the dash apart and found the plug for the timer and had uplugged it and plugged it back in. the displayed came up and looked normal, so i restarted the car and then went to take the keys out, but the car turned off instead of staying on and the timer did its count down w/the car off. unfortunatly i cant find the manual so i dont know where to start, has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix? sorry about the long post, any help would be appreciated!
how long has the timer been installed?....
and did it work fine before?...
if its a recent install i would check the ignition wires......i swapped one when i did mine and my stereo timed down instead of the car.... it was great if i wanted to cool down my stereo(when i still had one).
check all the wires makes sure they are good
but if everything is good i would say the timer is toast....

the timer is only like a year old, and its been fine untill last week when it took a crap
the wires from the back of the timer look fine, havent had a chance to look at the wires going to the ecu yet. anyone know which wire it is that keeps the car on? once you get used to having one, it sux sitting in the car waiting before you turn your car off!
