Probably better suited for the Forced induction forum. This does not particularly pertain to 92-00 civics.

I really don't see a point in them...especially for water and oil cooled turbos. Just sit down for 2-3 minutes and listen to music or something if you've gotten your oil temps that high.

Up to you if u want one or not. Only thing there good for is leaving the car running for a few mins to cool the turbo down. Once u get out or you could sit in ur car and wait. Wat ever you perfer. Not like its gonna give you any extra hp lmao.

There good if you really use your car as in daily it. SuckS to have to sit in the car for a few minutes when all you did is run to the store for a blunt. I luv getting home late night or tired and just getting out the car and letting the timer do its job. THere only a lil over a 100 or less used. Well worth the money if you use your car often enough

Just my opinion and personal experience

Jesus, are you shifting at redline all the way to the store? You don't need to wait any more than 20 seconds if you're just driving normal with an oil cooled turbo...

oil usually doesn't cool down as quick as you think, mainly the point of sitting for a few minutes is so your turbo isn't spinning super fast when you turn your motor off because you don't have any oil pressure to keep lubing your turbo

They served a purpose when less sophisticated conventional oils were more common. The older oils would break down and 'coke up' (insert Val Kilmer joke here) if they got too hot and sat in the turbo housing. If you are using a good oil, especially a modern synthetic, and don't abuse the car, there really is no need for one. As long as you don't wind it out right before you park it, there is no problem.

Yeah i have one and the only time i use it is when im romping around right before i park the car. but even when im driving normal i always sit for atleast a min to make sure things are cool. but if your driving normal you dont need to sit there i just do it to take the extra care of my motor. but it is nice to have when im blasting into work running late and i can hit my turbo timer as i run to the time clock.

i use mine everyday. just something i don't think about anymore. it's serving its purpose. on my greddy full auto timer, preset one is 1 minute for everyday driving and preset two is 10 minutes so in the morning i can go out start the car and have it warm up w/o a key being in there. a friend of mine doesn't have a time on his car, so whenever we both drive somewhere, i'm out my car and ready to go while he's sitting in his.

that's a good idea, but if you install any good branded alarm you can do remote start, and they also offer turbo timer features
