Default Do I get a turbo timer?

Does it matter having an oil cooled or coolant cooled turbo? I just bought a Precision SC-61. Just wondering if I should spend the money on one. Thanks!

Just depends if sitting in your car for a minute or two bothers you or not, regaurdless turbo time any turbo.

You have to ask yourself if $90-120 is worth not sitting in your car and waiting. It took me about 8 months before i gave in

I just wait the minute... to much effort to shut the car of if you need to in a unexpected hurry and ur in a panic or something... you dont need to wait 5 min, just wait a min to let the turbo spin down; IF you just came off the highway and were beating the snot out of it yea it would be a good idea to let it run for a few min to cool it a little but if your just driving around you shouldnt have to wait more then a minute

It took me 3 days to cave in ha ha. Its annoying as hell (and I was waiting 1 min). If you are on a tight budget then don't worry about it.

Does synthetic oil = no need for a turbo timer? I'm debating whether this Greddy turbo timer sitting here in worth it or not.

I've had turbo timers in 3 of my last cars....in my 3rd car(dsm) i had a greddy turbotimer. Well long story short the timer malfunctioned, never turned off the car, and my car overheated caught fire and totaled my car/blew my engine.....ever since then i just wait for the turbo to cool down....

Alot of the newer high end alarms have built in turbo timer options. I'm getting either a Compustar or Viper 791xv w/ the built in TT put in soon.
