Turbo Timer Install on 04 WRX
Im trying to help my friend out with his wrx. We got this turbo timer free off a friends sr20 clip. I have a basic idea how to hook and i was trying to see if i was right.
The Unit (crappy pic)
Now i thought that the wiring went like this:
Black- ground
Grey- ebrake
Red- power
Green- ignition
Blue- ignition
Yellow- ignition
Connector from Sr20 clip
The other random wires
Any pics of install would be great, am i right about the colors? Thanks for the help. I thought i ask hondatech before i went to a wrx board.

Hey if it does the job then he just saved $85. Set it up, throw it in the glove box and forget about it.

Re: (NrG)
what are you guys talking about? the turbo heats up the oil running through it, when it leaves the turbo and the car is shut down immideatly the hot oil can't get out of the lines and it sits in the lines and coked the sides, in basic terms it gives the lines clogged arteries which could lead to a heart attack. with a plugged oil return line(most common line to get plugged) the oil will back up into teh turbo causing there to bee to much oil pressure buildup within the turbo causing an oil leak usually into the intake compressor or into the exhaust. with a turbo timer, the turbo and the whole system has time to cool off(relatively) before the oil pump(engine) gets turned off. effectively avoiding clogging the lines. they are a good idea for any turbo car, stock or not.

Re: (xero-cool)
tek_civic, um.. thank you captain obvious.
Stock turbos on cars are watercooled
turbo timers are not needed but it does help alittle.
oh yea, he was asking how to install it; not what a turbo timer is.
