was curious to know what the spool time is like on the

57trim-
sc34-
sc61-
sc50-

looking for a good street turbo that spools quick but can pull to a 8.5k redline. Powergoal is 300whp low boost but i want useable power not peak numbers, probably around 400whp highboost. I think the sc61 is probably to big for my goals, the max power i plan to ever do is around 400whp on high boost. Just looking for the right turbo for my needs. Something that can spool on the quicker side but pull hard all the way to about 8.5k. Ill be usuing an 4.785 ITR tranny as well. looking for 300whp as my daily driver setting, and 400whp as track boost level

btw: car will always be on pump gas, basically gonna tune what ever turbo i decide on to around 300whp for my daily driver setting, then try to get what ever i can upwards to 400whp on pump gas for my high boost setting.

the sc61 would make tremendous power. Thats the one i'm going with. It'll make power maybe around 4800-5200 - but its well worth it.

Get a nice valvetrain - so you can rev to 9000........get a lightened flywheel so you can get there quickly - make sure your bottom end is on point.......and it'll be WELL worth it. There is a dyno somewhere comparing the sc61 vs a t3/t4 turbo - the sc61 made so much more power than the t3/t4 on the same PSI.....it was great.

not sure what trim and ar my stuff is but i got a t3/t4 on a built b17 @8.5:1 CR

I made 200whp on a dynojet with a broken distributor.

Turbo spools fully around 4.5 and pulls hard as **** right out to 8.5

sc34 is my vote. or sc44. agree here that the sc61 might be too big with your gearing. just my thoughts. good luck.

I use the 4.785 final drive and love it. I think the GT3255 would be perfect for that setyp with the goals that you're seriously looking for. I guess I'm just not an SC61 fan because of its Peaky characteristics that I experienced in 5 cars.
