Default turbo specs for b18b

i know there are a million topics on this turbo sizing for b18b's but everyone seems to have slightly different turbos so i dont know what one is going to be best. how about this size for a b18b

.50/.63 ar with a 60 trim compressor wheel made by garrett. will this be to big? its going on a stock block hopefully running 12psi at the track and 8 daily. thanks for all of your help.

Is It a t3/t4? or straight t3...either one will work great actually with the ladder being better for the street because it's smaller and has quicker spool

why exactly 12PSI? and if you answer me I 'll just keep asking why again and again until you realize you don't know why. Sorry if I sound mean here, but it always irritates me to see people say the want to boost xxPSI when this isn't what controls the reliability or power output of an engine, instead focus on WHP, this gives a better idea for your goals and reliability in the long run

because the amount of boost pressure creates the whp. and as far as i know you cant run more than 12psi without upgrading your map sensor (or something, i dont know because im not running 13psi) because it will throw a code once it sees 13psi. this is only for the track, im going to run 7psi daily for reliablity sake. that was a weird paragraph, im too lazy to fix it

i just bought a garrett T3 (.48/.60) with a 60 trim compressor wheel. i think this will be perfect for the b18b. according to my calculations, this is the one.

That's a very good turbo! Nice spool and holds till the end. It's actually 10.8 PSI is the max. You can boost more without throwing a code, but you will have to tune the last column of the maps to the specific boost you will get.

Please don't base whp on boost! boost does not make Horsepower. the time at witch peak cylinder pressure is made (ignition timing) and what the AFR is without high EGT's (Air to fuel tuning) is what makes power not AIR! Get it tuned to deliver the HP you want at a safe, yet good timing, and good AFR to hold the highest safe EGT's and you will make peak power. If you make that same power at 6 PSI or 18 PSI it's does NOT MATTER (mostly...other factors are involved).

GL with everything
