I took the oil feed line off and started the car to watch the oil pour out. The only thing that i can think of now is that they changed housings on the turbo and maybe something wasnt done right. They went from a garret to a percision for the downpipe bolt pattern.

There is your answer. You started the car with the oil feed line disconnected. Therefore, the turbo spun without gettting lubricated.

What he did was correct by watching the oil comes out of the feedline for the first time after all the installation. As soon as oil come out of the feedline, you should plug it right on to the turbo and ready to go. If oil doesn't come out of the feedline, then you just saved your turbo by doing the test.

Yeah, you are correct. You should install the line right when the oil comes out. However, I think that the line must have been disconnected for too long of a period of time. There is definitely something wrong with part of the install. Two new turbos gone bad? This is just very unlikely to happen. Besides, how are you supposed to install the oil feed line with motor running and oil pouring out of the line? That's right, you have to shut off the car. That means the turbo will continue to spin without oil while the motor is shut off. The worst part about it is that when you first start the car, the motor revs at a higher RPM. Just my opinion, but I could totally be wrong.

More Than Likely It Is either a Improperly Setup Return Line, And/Or feed Line. If BOTH turbo's Were Fine when you Put them on and BOTH went bad like that Then You Were Not Getting oil to the Housing in which after 7 miles(give or take) all the Heat and friction From NO oil Did Your Turbo in! even a BAD turbo that is Smoked out and blades hitting the housing will last ALOt longer than that(believe me i know) Next time Install your feed line and Do as MotorMatrix said and Start the Car with the Oil drain In a Bucket to be Sure Your Lubed right. Otherwise you must have gotten 2 Bad Housings(and some Horrible luck !)

from what i was told, you're not suppose to start your car with the turbo bolted up and oil line off the turbo. what i was told and i did was unpluged the ecu fuse, and kept cranking the motor till oil started to spill out of the line. then i connected the oil line to the turbo and started up the badboy.

another thing, i have a 4an line on my setup, when we did my buddy's setup and used a 3an line, after about 50 or so miles his turbo seized up. we took it to a diesel shop near us for a rebuild and they told us that the turbo was lacking oil from what they could see. so we changed from a 3an to and 4an line and the turbo has been happy ever since. people may tell you that a 3an line will be flow more than enough oil to your turbo, but different setups have different requirements, what may work for others may not work for you.

i am going to have to upgrade my oil feed line when i get my turbo back....it said in the instructions that you put some oil in the oil feed hole, spin it 7 times then hook up the oil feed line. Dry start the car for 15secs, then start the car up and check for leaks.
