Default Which turbo for this setup?

Setup:

You're not getting responses because of the fact that many in the GT'R' series can make that power. It's all in how you WANT the power. smaller framed turbos give more response, the larger ones do it at less boost on pump gas, but may not be as responsive at all. once you've narrowed that down (which requires some research on YOUR part) you'll get a few more responses. This forum is not known well for "spoon feeding" information

C'mon.. you know better than that..there's more than 10 turbos that could even possibly narrow him down to what he needs.

TheShodan has a point and Mac, i understand your frustration...There are a number of turbos that would fit your power goals, but only a few that would meet your specific needs. What are you planning to use the car for? Because you could make 450whp on a variety of turbos from the GT30r series up to the GT42r series. The difference is obviously the responsiveness.

Another thing to consider when making this choice is whether or not you "need" a ball bearing CHRA. It obviously adds cost and makes rebuilding much more expensive. Let us know what your needs and budget are, and we'll do our best to help you out.

Until then, you're just going to get a bunch of brainless bandwagon posts like this....

that narrowed it down to only 58.4 selections

OP.... what are you goals. street, street/strip, strip? spool characteristics you'd like?

There are about 1000 different variations of the "T3/T4." There are a number of them that would work, but your goals and use for the car determine which one....

Garrett T3/T4 60 trim .60/.63 would hit full boost at around 5K rpm and I'm guessing you'll be revving to 8.5K so that should get you a decent powerband.

Oh and with the ball bearing option it'll spool up a lot earlier than that.

not true at all...the ball bearing CHRA replacement units have been all but phased out entirely. People buy them on the misconception that they decrease spool time, but in reality, they do nothing of the sort. They merely increase transient response. The reason the GT-R series works the way they do is not entirely due to the BB CHRA, but the wheel design.

If you want a good turbo that will spool fast, meet your goals and not break your budget, look into the Silver Surfer. There is a thread about it in the Classifieds otherwise you can PM TheShodan and he'll set you up.

Okay,

Mr. Badass, why don't you just help him out and give him the turbo he needs instead of just going around correcting everyone and post whoring.
