Maximum willingness to pay for a turbocharger. That's what he means by budget

To make 300whp on an LS, you dont need to build it. A set of ARP rod bolts will suffice. Stock B series engines will run low to mid 300s all day for years. You can scratch the piston/rod cost and include that in your turbo setup budget.

For your power goals, i would suggest PMing the guy above me (TheShodan) to ask him about the GT3255b. I ran one on my stock 99 GSR a few years back and it was an incredible street turbo. I had full boost just over 3000rpm and it made 315whp/216wtq at a mere 10.5psi. With a few more psi, it would easily clear your goal. In fact, that turbo made over 400whp on my tuner's stock turbo LS with E85 and a good tune. I would HIGHLY recommend it

Once they fix that rumored pesky little thrust plate dilemma that supposedly has problems with dealing with higher thrust loads (again, rumored). If one plans to use the 5857, the ball-bearing version is recommended (though I'm still skiddish about using Air only to cool and not water, but its still more durable than the JB version).

I'm sympathetic to Precision for some of the problems that they are facing at this time, as I've been a fan since 2002. I hope that these issues, whatever they may be, are worked out quickly and thoroughly.
