Default turbo seal question

i just put a new turbo on my car and the oil line runs a little lower than it did before.. i think oil pooled up in the return line and went through the turbo seals.. smoke was going everywhere... it is a brand new garret turbo.. i was wondering if once the oil line was fixed to run correctly, if any damage would have happened to the turbo? i only drove it for about a mile or 2 to get gas.. lemme know!

It's pretty hard to ruin a turbo seal.Get the drain fixed and you should be fine.Give it a while to clear all the oil from the exhaust.

It might take a few miles to clean out but it should be fine. The seals cannot be hurt by a flooded bearing housing. If you take the turbine housing off you can clean the oil out with brake clean. Also clean out the oil from behind the shroud. It tends to collect there. Watch your oil level closely to be sure it is not passing into the turbo after you do the repairs.

Good Luck

Yes it will if the the problem is fixed. Just keep a Very close watch on your oil if it keeps smoking. It can take several miles to burn off the oil.
