Rebuilt turbo is leaking oil from everywhere
So two weeks ago I rebuilt my eve 8 turbo for my 96 ls I use all new parts and clean and relubed up everything real good.I decided Tuesdays night I would turn the turn the turbo upside Down and fill the oil return line with 10-w30 so all the necessary parts in the turbo can get lube real well I only put like TWO table spoons in it.when I came home from work wendsday I checked the turbo and oil was coming from compressor housing and the hot side of the turbo is that normal for freshly rebuilt turbo with 0 miles on it to do that because ineed to brake it in or what need help plzzz thanks.

Re: Rebuilt turbo is leaking oil from everywhere
Well there arent seals there are oil rings which are like a piston ring. Filling a cavity with oil and leaving it in there it will find its way out past an oil ring IMO. when the engine is running the oil is sprayed on the shaft and bearings and then drained immediatly. It doesnt stay in the CHRA. Clean it up and run it to see if still leaking past rings. if still leaking send turbo out for proper rebuild

unpressurized oil leaks out of the chra....
the seals don't seal unless the oil is under pressure
i store most of my turbos with oil in the center sections and it seeps past seals
