Default turbo problems

i have a turbo 93 teg i just put a new turbo on it and it was smoking a blue smoke that means oil right? So i pulled my spark plugs and it showed no sign of oil. I have no oil going through my charge pipe and no leaks in my oil in or return line. So i pulled the turbo off tonight and when i unbolted the downpipe off the turbo it was all black and wet with oil would a bad turbo seal cause oil to go out the exhaust without going through the motor and still causeing smoke? i also did a compression check and every cylinder is 155 or better for compression. what do u think my problem is do i need a new turbo or turbo seal what should i do? it is an x power t3 turbo with an external wastegate and a 4.8 pound spring. Any ideas would help at this time cause i need to ge it fixed and not smoking.

thanks

yes oil in the hot side will cause blue smoke out of the turbine housing.

You just answered your own question of why you are having a turbo problem........ XS POWER turbo is complete ****, I don't know why everyone continues to buy **** from them. A good used garrett/air research turbo can be bought off ebay for $200-$450, and that's a good reliable turbo, not some chinese turbo knock-off. Get a name brand new/rebuilt turbo off ebay, and your problem is solved.

Oil passing into the exhaust side is a sign of a failed turbine seal.XSPower turbo's are not renouned for their quality. Some are good some are not.
However,it could be another issue. Are you running a turbo oil restrictor?A 0.060" restrictor fitted could help.
If you have the turbo rebuilt, fit a set of uprated stepped piston ring seals (stagger gap).
Or you could just junk the turbo!
