Turbo porting vs. NA porting?
How much difference is there? How bad of an idea is it to run a head that was ported for NA in a turbo setup?
Thanks

i dont think there's a difference in porting for NA and FI. The cams and other parts migth be differ, but that' about it. The head it self should be the same. I mean, porting is porting.

Porting isn't porting
On FI setups you need the exhaust to flow 75-85% of the intake flow.
On NA the exhaust needs to flow 60-70% of the intake flow.
All setups should have a porting job done to what that particular setup needs so each head is taylor ported to the needs ,,,at least thats the way it should be done

Re: Turbo porting vs. NA porting? (tk)
Man, I am really interested in learning more about porting heads. I've read a lot of books and articles about it but it seems like a kind of a black science. Does it just take a lot of trial and error to do it well?
I've got a spare LS head around that I was thinking about working a bit. If I was to port it a small amount would I focus mainly on the exhaust ports? Why does the torque in the LS motor drop so much after it's powerband? Is it from the cams or more the intake manifold and head?
thanks, sorry for all the questions.
