You're not goin to get a very happy turbo system with $2k - you'll just end up realizing you need another $2k to do it the way you wish you had... you MIGHT be able to find a GSR swap for that if you do it yourself.....

I'd probably do a engine swap first. Going from a d16 to a b18c is like a turbo hehe. Even swapping in a b18b or b20z would be a big jump.

dbman96 has a point but i guess it all depends on what you want
i spent about 2,000 on my turbo setup, and even though i would have done things different, i still dont regret ever getting it
its certainly been a great learning experience for me
and of course now i would do it different, but thats the fun of it

yeah i know 2k isnt going to be enough for what i wanna do, but im just trying to figure out which way to go with it. the only thing holding me back from going turbo is the fact that i already got 90k miles :/ any other suggestions?

also doesnt the D16 handle boost pretty well considering the lower compression? So maybe the miles arent that big of a factor....ah choices choices

I say turbo what you've got. If it does blow at some point, then pop in a new D16 for cheap or swap up to a B series.

you need a motor before you can do turbo.. get the B18B, its 2k dollars, will improve your car for the time being and is perfect for turbo..

not saying you cant turbo a D series but you are gonna spend the same amount of money to still be slower had u gone with a B series..
