Default To turbo or not??

Hey guys,
I've been researching for about a year now and I'm ready to start making plans to turbo. I'm basically of a $1K budget. My grandfather knows how to weld so that knocks out the IC piping.
Could you guys point me in a direction to get started. I got a 95 EX w/ a nonvtec motor(d15b7). I wanna go ahead and turbo the D and do a Bseries swap later on. Eventually I plan on doing the mini-me if I decide to stick with the D motors since there are plenty.

My goals are sub 220whp on stock internals. I was either thinking about DIY tuning w/Uberdata or getting one of the CROME Pro tuner packages from xenocron.com.

I was going to do a J/Y turbo and get it rebuilt.

So could you guys please help me plan with a $1K budget, don't include engine management.

I'ma need a log mani> roughly $200
Good BOV and Wastegate, good intercooler, injectors. All of this together is about $800. Is there anything cheaper?

Thanks for ya help.

Go to HMT.com and do some reading. Most topics like this have been gone over quite a bit.

basicly i choose to not.

1 reasons, the motor you have has crappy rods not good for boosting.

2 you dont seem like you know enough about turboing to even touch datalogging or self tuning, that will blow your motor if not done correctly.

3 for a budget you need to know were to put money into the kit\motor to come out on top not behind

4 you are asking if there is anything cheaper than the parts you listed. and in reality you have forgotten alot of other parts that you need, ie:clutch, flywheel, turbo oil dump lines, turbo oil feed lines, tapped out pan for turbo, dumptube, downpipe, couplers, clamps, and more

5 lastly you lack alot of expierence with this scene it seems even tho you have researched for over a year you should be pretty on key and point to know that a d15b motor is basicly crap, take your 1k buy a ls motor then save do more research and THEN turbo the motor but only after you do tons of research
