Default Turbo with No Cat?

How loud would it be to run a SOHC motor with a Greddy turbo and no catalytic converter? I've heard that it would be louder than stock, but not as loud and annoying as a cheap exhaust. Anyone ever try or hear it before?

right now I am running Rev hard stage 2 on a d16y7 with no cat and believe it or not its way deeper than my prelude. Its just really irritating right now because it is running really rich. My o2's are reading fresh air and the car is in open loop. Gas mileage really sucks as well. Really nice throaty sound.

i think the bigger the piping, the louder the sound...for a turbo with 3 inch piping, its really loud, i know a guy with the same setup. and he has a cat too, but nothing is louder than NA

My friend's EX with GReddy kit is running a 2.5" testpipe. It's not loud at all. Even @ WOT it's still way quieter than most NA Civics I've heard.

That would be me, just a nice deep tone, not too loud unless you're on the expressway at 90mph

What about the O2 sensors? since there are two of them on a OBD2 96up Civic

I have 2.5" dp and 3" piping with apexi n1 muffler. First o2 is in the dp and 2nd is just tapped into the 3" piping. I think it sounds nice as hell.

Is there a point to having a 3 inch exhuast if your dp is only 2.5? Theoretically the 2.5 dp is your exhuast systems bottle neck.

can someone explain to me why it is benefitial to do this?

I had a ZC with the Greddy kit and no cat last summer and now I have a b16a with a t3/t4 and no cat and it is still pretty quiet. It is quieter than most of of my friends all motor setups.
