Turbo manifold question. What do you guys think of this?
I'm thinking of perhaps putting together a custom kit for my 00Si instead of buy a "ready-made" kit. I'm shooting for something in the 250-300HP range. Daily driver with occasional trips down the 1/4 mile. Thinking of a T3 or T3/T4 turbo. I was looking around the net and saw this manifold.
:::copied and pasted from auction listing:::
Fits Acura Integra 90-91 - B18 DOHC and Civic 90-00 - B16 DOHC. Manifold is made for Garrett Hybrid T3 and T3/T4 turbos with a GReddy/HKS wastegate flange. Fits any B-series motors including: B16, B17, B18A, B18B, B18C, B18C5, B20B, B20Z, etc. OBX high performance racing headers are made out of pure SUS-304 stainless steel.
Dyno tested at low end and top speed to increase 15-40+ horsepower gain. Precision mandrel-bending enhances exhaust gas flow. OBX headers fit OEM down pipe or OBX Cat. Back Systems without modifications. Value-added bolt-on headers for any racing sport performance enthusiasts. CARB Exempt. Easy installation!!!
Features:
Dyno Tested and Proven
Instant +15-40 HP Gain!!!
Direct bolt-on without modification
T-304 Stainless Steel mandrel-bends for ultra fast flow.
CNC machined flanges with TIG and MIG welded construction
02 Sensor position
Lifetime warranty from manufacturer defects
So what do you guys think? $350 plus shipping. Good deal? Bad deal? Stay the hell away from OBX stuff?

that is the ebay manifold. it is known for cracking. i've heard stories of the wastegate completely just falling off of the manifold due to it breaking. i would not recommend it. do a search for ssautochrome or ebay manifold for more info

pricing not bad..but OBX has not such a good reputation,, the welds dont look all good..but for a budget set up..it should be good......might wanna brace the manifold or something just incase

Re: (alloutmotor)
If you get a deal on it, buy it and cut all the flanges off. Then buy some decent piping and weld yourself a manifold.
(Or use it until it cracks then do that. Just make sure you have your turbo and waste-gate supported by something other than that manifold.)

I'm not sure, but it looks like the inside of the collector has been altered to hide all the ugly grape-ape welds. what do you think? besides being a bad business practice, is it alered?

Forget that crap, Buy an inline pro manifold and call it a day. arturbo has great pricing
ALSO this topic has been covered 10848372 times. IF you took 5 minutes to search, you would have found your answer instead of typing all of that out
Good luck

nah, i dont think so, if they are, they arent much over 500, I know I didnt pay over 500 back in the day for my inline pro.
put it his way, if i got that ebay manifold for free, I still wouldnt use it.
The best log manifold on the market = inline pro No question about it.

I have that same manifold, pretty before use, start up engine turned blue, then brown, after 30 days cracked in 3 places, and the ssautochomeshithead guy on ebay does not honor warranty, I like the design but its poor quality

Can't go cheap on a turbo manifold. Spend little now, reinvest more later if or when it should crack or break. Go with quality now and save money and headaches.
