Turbo LS? or Turbo Z6?
Okay so here is the deal...currently i have a D16Z6 swap with some minor mods in the 92 CX hatch that i have...my original plans for this B18A1 block that i have stripped down and has been hot tanked was to build a LS/Vtec...but now im liking the idea of boosting the LS....BUT which would be easier or produce more power (i guess) or does it really matter since its going to be boosted? Z6 or LS?
Im leaning towards building the LS block for boost since its already out on an engine stand just waiting for something to happen to it. The cylinder walls are rough and has to be bored out .25 overbore. Which is what my original plan was to run .25 P30 Pistons with my LS/Vtec build..but now i want boost...
i like the idea of building the LS for boost then putting a Vtec head on later on down the line.
Any suggestions?

Re: Turbo LS? or Turbo Z6?
LS block. Although the Z6 can hit 400whp from very few, your walking on a thin line. I'd go with the block that can hit 600+ on stock sleeves. More displacement is always a plus for more power. 2 cams to dial in powerband.
The cheaper and more powerful would be b18a/b. If it is just sitting there buy rods, pistons, acl bearings, arp head studs, and block guard. Save up and get the bore honed. Then start assembling.

You can build the Z6 for MUCH less than the DOHC. You still have to get mounts, tranny, blah blah, just to do the swap.
For ~ $600 you can have a fully rebuilt vitara/eagle Z6 that can make 400 on pump. You will be limited to around the same 400 with a LS on pump gas.

Re: Turbo LS? or Turbo Z6?
but ur at the top w/ a z6 @ 400.
A LS w/ 400, u can throw a b16 head and a retune and gain major power.
Regardless of engine, 400 is gonna be near the roof for 93 oct.If E85 is available, then hands down B series.

z6 with 600 in vitara build = 400 hp mostly reliable.
swap in and build an LS = more then 600 way more and not so much on 400 hp.

b swap will easily give you a wide choice of excellent transmissions compared to the hydro ex trans. ive found that boosted z6s and ls motors will make roughly the same power/tq ratios but will take the z6 a few pounds more boost to get there.
being said i just did a vitara/eagle 75.5mm z6 and im rather impressed with it so far. track times and mph will hopefully further extend my outlook on this motor
