Default Turbo kits choices

I have a '96 Honda Civic w/ a VTECH SOHC D series engine. I've been looking at tubos, but I can't decide which one to get. Greddy, FMAX, DRAG, and Revhard caught my eye. Which is the best kit for me based on power potential and ease of installation (meaning no welding or $h!t like that)

Matt, coming on here with that attitude regardless of your age is not going to get you very far. Maybe try acting with a little more respect and you'll get treated a little better. Also, some people on here like if things are spelled correctly and everything so take no offense to that.

I recommend the Drag kit as well. Try emailing Ben@importparts.com about the Drag setup.

Well until you hit puberty.......... And do not use my last name in vain please. I dont know what that bs says, but if you wanna talk ****, talk it in english.

BTW, if you dont want to do any welding, dont get the drag 3 kit. Get the greddy for ease since you do not want to get your hands dirty.

thanks for the input. What about the FMAX?? Supposedly, it's a direct bolt on. Is this true? Is it worth it to spend a grand more on it?

BTW, I heard the Greddy kit sucks if you want higher levels of boost. I heard it tops off at 12psi, IF THAT.

Do you plan on building the engine at all? Pistons or rods? If not, then you will not want to run 12 psi+ anyway. The FMAX is a decent kit, but many have issues with their MF2 and extra injector setup. In the end it is up to you to do the research to see which one you like best.

Good, I am glad to hear that. Sounds like you will be ready to run some serious boost if you have it tuned well. Anyway, you will want a kit that has a T3/T4 turbo since you probably plan to run a lot of boost. Drag, Rev Hard, Max-Rev and FMAX all use those turbos in their kits.

Building engines is for suckers dude. You will spend a ton of money and get very little WHP per dollar of investment. If you seriously want to boost over 210 WHP which is how much hp your SOHC stock internals will take before it gets fried, think about doing a B16 swap and then going the Drag 3 route keeping with the stock internals and boosting to 350whp using standalone.

Plan how much money you will spend on everything and then get your HP per dollar and ask yourself if it is worth it. You could easily spend several thousand dollars on building an engine and not be satisfied with your total hp numbers.

On the otherhand, you can get good performance out of your SOHC with just a Greddy kit and Hondata. It won't be GREAT power but it will definitely be fun and you won't have to put yourself in debt to do it.

Above all, plan, plan, plan. Write down everything you think you want and find out what it will cost. Be realistic and don't just start buying parts because before you know it, you will have spent a few thousand dollars and not be anywhere near your goal.
