Turbo installed, transmission hates me
Ok got my car back from RPM today turbo installed and all. Complications were:
Engine block was shaved
Fan housing was moved over and shaved (All this so turbo fit)
Inline fuel pump was BROKE so running stock fuel pump only with 80psi pressure from the Vortech FMU
As soon as I got in the car and drove it around the block BARELY hitting boost at 3200rpm (never got up more then that yet for saftey reasons) (with the guy that was apart of the install) CEL came on code 70 AND the drive 4 light is blinking permanently now.
Now from my visit to levelten I learned when the drive 4 light blinks that means somehting is seriously wrong with the trans. So I'm scared now because of that.
While driving home from the city I kept out of boost as much as I could, timing was retarted a little more then usual until I get a walbro or other 255 intake pump to compensate for having no extra fuel flow.
Other then that I can hear the turbo its a real suttle high pitched whine while driving when it kicks in (remember I've hit BARELY ANY boost because I'm scared to push anything with the trans like it is) and the car drove like nothing was wrong, no weird sounds shifts etc.....
I know nothing about the trans, and hopefully when they took the engine out or whatever mabye wacked out a trans sensor... but I'll assume the worst and get to levelten asap and have them check it out/build her up if thats possible.
I'm happy regaurdless, just driving in a safe manor due to the complications. I'll keep you all posted.
Damage was a total of $875 (some modifications besides a regular install were necessary)
