Default Turbo-ing a b16

i got a b16, im looking forward to turbo-ing it.. i was thinking about puting Wiseco 8.8 pistons to run high boost... is that a good idea? what other things would i need to not put any stress on my car when i turbo?

o yea another thing, i heard that Full-Race exhaust manifolds crack??? whats that about

the stock b-series block can handle around 300whp from FI so unless your planning to reach more than 300whp, the stock block will be fine, considering that its tuned correctly. tuning is the most important factor if you want a reliability. for aftermarket pistons, i wouldnt go lower than 9:1. check out IB Specs wiseco pistons.

why not lower than 9? so what if im planning to go more than 300 hp, whats needed then??

anything below 9:1 is just too dam low. drag cars run higher comp on boost like 9.5:1+ because they want higher whp (600whp+) but their motors are tuned up the ***. i believe 9:1 is perfect for FI and it also lowers the chances of detonation when tuning. also, i've seen stock b-series sleeves handling 400whp. if you really want to then get the block resleeved. but i'd get some pistons and rods and call it good.

i heard that after awhile, they start to crack and i gotta weld em up after awhile, then they recommended the cast-iron manifold

i think you might be mistaken by the SSAUTOCHROME manifolds, i heard that they crack pretty quick and people would brace the **** out of them.
