Anyone experience SRP 9:1 Pistons holding 20-25psi???
I'm about to buy some low mileage SRP 9:1 pistons for a *BUDGET* built LSVTEC.
Planned setup:
Stock LS Block
Stock GSR Head
blox intake/turbo manifolds
SRP Pistons/Eagle Rods
T3/60-1 Turbo .63 stage 3 exhaust
etc.
Plan to rev under 8500rpm 20-25psi... looking to make around 500whp
i've heard some horror stories about srp's but i've learned to usually not pay much attention to alot of the stuff i read on here as a lot of it is heresay... also thinking about throwing in a blockgaurd??

well, ls or even gsr 9:1 pistons aren't going to actually be 9:1 in an lsv application, also, i don't think a 60-1 is gonna net you 500whp at those boost levels or at all, and you'd be much better off without a block guard than with one, if anything, post the block. as far as the srp's, they should be fine for 500whp as long as it's properly tuned.

tune will be taken care of via me and crome... what turbo do u recommend for 500hp on my setup? I thought a 60-1 would be up for the task

stay on topic please... i'm pretty sure i'll be shifting around stock redline... and i'm pretty sure i'll be closer to 20psi... i'm just looking to get around 500hp and hopefully a high 10sec pass in a eg hatch

Alright I won't try to help you. It's cool though that the stuff you said in your first post isn't true.
I'm out.

I plan to rev under 347,000rpm then.
And I am staying on topic. Regardless, I'm not much obliged to.
When you drop a valve, let me know. Your pistons will hold up great with valves installed in them.
8500rpm + GSR valve springs + 25psi of boost on the back side of the valve = m4d jdm vt3c y0.

How about you don't post anymore. I'm tired of trying to help inconsiderate bastards.
Oh yeah, and to answer your original question... don't use SRP pistons at high power levels.

Re: Anyone experience SRP 9:1 Pistons holding 20-25psi??? (dustin)
how are you helping me? I already stated I would be shifting at 8200... You're insulting my intelligence. I'm not new to hondas or boost, I know not to rev sky-hi. I said 8500rpm because maybe the pistons are not too good above 8500, not because I'm gonna rev to 8500, but I might get some ctr cams and rev to 8500. I dunno?

kiss my ***. I didn't diss you at all. You insulted me when you start telling me about some **** that I already know. I'm surprised u didn't start telling me about how unreliable lsvtecs are. I appreciate your and anyone else's help/response, but when you start talking silly talk about revving to 3million rpms, it's hard to take you seriously.
