Turbo and Hybrid Potential For New Honda Engines
What do you all think? A turbo would be easy, but i doubt it will be smog legal. What do you think the chances of the CRV's 2.4L block mated to a ITR head? Then a lil turbo for added fun? Or how about the potential of the 2002 Civic Si... 160hp, but isnt it the same block as the RSX/Integra and the ITR/RSX-R with a different head? So, theoretically, wouldn't converting the Si motor to a 200hp + all motor beast be a relatively simple process? Then a little turbo on top of that and that ugly lil hatch will be quite a monster!
Don't mind me, I'm just speculating cuz I kinda like the new Si's and I am trying to figure out a game plan for when and if I get the car...

you cant mate the new motors with the old ones.. but u can put an RSX typeS head on a CRV bottem end.. and then turbo it
maybe that is what u meant..

yeah im talking about all new motors. The 2002 Civic Si hatch has a detuned version of the RSX engine.

no, the Civic Si has the RSX base motor. The blocks are the same, but it is unknown if you can swap heads. Logic says yes, assuming the valve size reliefs on the pistons are sufficiently sized, but the wiring would be difficult, as the VTEC system is different on the Type S motor. If the previous sentence holds true, then the new CRV block should also be retrofittable. This is all hear say.
