Got a call from the machine shop. The outer housing of my eagle rods are 2 thou over which was the culprit with excessive rod wear. They said if I were to rebuild as is, I'd be in the same boat and this is a manufacturing error.

I think the pickup tube also was a issue, and glad at least I'm fixing both of these .

I was surprised to hear the issue w/ the rods, since I plasti gauged all of it during assembly and it all checked out.

So! I'm still rebuilding it. I won't know for certain until the motor is rebuilt and driving, but I'm confident the pressure issue was the oil pickup tube + the ACL pump, and the rod issue centered around the rod housing being too large (but was also impacted by high pressure/not enough oil).

Found a bunch more stuff I'm fixing with the rebuild, and this time logging ALL of my specs. The machine shop is going to balance my new rods + fix some threads on the block, and then it goes back together.

I'm no longer using the ACL pump as I'm instead going OEM - I anticipate this should fix the issue. However, I'm also considering rerouting the hose so its a little longer too. I'll circle back here as I get more info - I'm hoping this helps others in the same boat.

Gotcha. When I had to redo the drain line in my setup, it was mind-boggling. Fitting at the oil pan was at its lowest point without having oil back into it during turns or parked downhill. Replacing the custom ram horn manifold was an option but I didn’t want to pay $1k+ for a nice custom top-mount either. You have to also factor in the price of modding the existing downpipe. After some rigorous measurements and searching, I finally came up with the right fitting combination. Rebuilding the turbo again was definitely not an option if my theory was incorrect.
