Default turbo d16

hey guys i just put a greddy kit on my obd2 d16y8. im running the greddy blue box with a FMU. johnny race car front mount. stock injectors. 5 psi on stock and thats it.

problem...

AS SOON AS I HIT BOOST...litteraly.... .001 pounds, the car will stutter. and stutter allot. the first day it was rtunning fine, but now as soon as i hit boost it just stutters and i can tdo anything. i was wondering anyone have an idea what could possibly be the problem. i checked all the couplers, no leaks there.... oh...also i am running a missing link. plugs are 2 degrees coler and gapped at thirty...

yeah try removing the fmu for a run... also it is your cel light on? sounds like the map sensor is feeling the boost and throwing everything off. do you have a missing link or check valves?

hmm, different people have been telling me that about the FMU, and i really should try it, hooking the return line back up and everything, also yes i do have a missing link...its just so frustrating, im scared if i dont run the FMU ill lean it out and make it go kaboom ha ha

hahahaha it won't go KABOOM right away. just dont push to hard. i ran my stock d15 on 12psi with no ecu or fuel upgrades, and no check valves for about 300miles (unlike i parked it) and i got no kaboom at all! i dragged it and everything.

just take it easy and see if it happens when you hit boost once or twice. its clal taking it for test runs. won't hurt anything thing if it only leans our a few times.

yea, i forgot to say i am throwing a CEL for code 46 runing to lein or rich...

the way i understadn it is..the blue boxs tricks the ecu into giving it more fuel..the FMU forces it more fuel so for example...blue box sends 5 "units" and the FMU says "add 10 more" that makes 15 "units" when the car is only needing 5....so the FMU bogs the car out imeadiatly when i hit boost...is that right? did that make sense?

I'd stick with the bluebox until you can get some better tuning. I'm not a big fan of FMU's unless you've got nothing else on hand to use.

FMUs work a good ways... but nothing can compete with good tuning!
