Turbo and A/C issues
I was driving in Phoenix today it was like 104 degrees so I had the a/c on. I noticed that when I downshifted from a turn my car would hesistate for a sec. then go normal. It happend a few times while in 5th on the freeway, but not as bad in the lower gears 1,2,&3. Ever since I put my turbo in I noticed my vac. guage would read -12 and the car would idle rough, but the rpms would stay at 750. Could this be a vac problem or can it be something really bad like detonation when the a/c is on?
TIA

It has done it a few times when its hot out with the a/c off, but yesterday it was doing it almost all the time with it on, especially from a stop or when I downshifted for a turn.

My car acts REALLY weird with the A/C on when it is 100+ out. It almost stalls at lights and stuff. So, do not think you are alone!

yeah my car sucks also with the A/C on. If i am driving with it on, i have to rev higher to compensate for the ac. It sucks with this heat

i have not yet installed my turbo but I started having this with my a/c about a yr ago. I put in an Unorthodox Racing underdrive pulley (got it real cheap by calling the factory--B stock for $119) and it cured that problem right away. has been running great since. Never notice the a/c at all. Just a suggestion.

are any of you running a test pipe with a code 67? I was wondering if that had anything to do with it. with the a/c off it runs great.
quikrpm1,
I wish I knew you were in Phoenix, I would of liked to check out your ride. Maybe next time I'm out there.

just sounds like the AC compressor is kicking in more than usual robbing you of power. thats why i never use the AC.... its worth it to me to break a sweat for the extra couple of horsepower with the AC off..
