Turbo b16 first start...bad gas?
I've been working on the car in my signature since last August. It had had about a 1/3 tank of 93 octane that I filled up at some point before I tore the car down. I'm finally around to trying to start the car up and I'm having some trouble. I have fuel and I have spark and I'm 99% sure my timing is right. The motor will turn over once or twice then back fire and pop. Are these possible symptoms of bad gasoline? Thanks!

Scratch the backfiring part. I'm an idiot and swapped 1 and 2 on the firing order. It now fires but doesn't start. I pulled the plugs again and noted that the plugs are almost...gooey? It's sort of an oily residue that leaves black streaks on my hands when I wipe it off. It smells like gas though. I'll upload a pic of the plug in a sec.
