Default tuning off of the spark plug

I am interested in obtaining some info in tuning a turbo'd honda off of the spark plugs. Right now i a running a basemap-uberdata. I cannot afford to get a wideband, But have everything else. I will be getting one soon, but funds are tight. I know that tuning off of the plugs is not the best way, but it is more accurate than just using a basemap. Any direction would be beneficial. thanks

you can, but the problem is you may fry something and onlyl know b/c you see detonation on the plugs, or even pre ignition from running too lean. time you stop the car, pull the plugs the damage has already been done. use the pplugs to make sure the tune is good, not to do all the tuning.

Ill tell you from my experience.. I was running uberdata basemap for maybe 40 miles and reading plugs every drive, always read rich. Never heard any bad noises and car ran great. Since i dont need to drive the car it was mainly to test my work in those 40 miles and to see if everything worked properly fully boosted 1st gear only 3 times at 7psi. Wideband was on order to do some tuning plugged in wideband and was idling in the 10s A/F ratio super rich in vacuum and only hitting 13s high 12s A/F in boost not overly bad but not rich enough for me. So i would reccomend getting a wideband. Basemaps will make the car run but need to be checked as soon as you can.

Clifnotes: car ran way too rich in vacuum and too lean in boost off uberdata basemap.
