Re: Trying to find supercharger for mini me/not turbo
I researched the guy that supercharged his B20 in a Del Sol. Good work. But it only made 153wkw, which is about 200 whp. Not downplaying that. But it's not going to be as beneficial (number wise) as a turbo charger system. The TQ specs weren't included from what I read. But I assume it is probably 230 ft-lbs+ from what I read about the toyota previa it came from.

Yeap the first dyno result was 180whp the second with improvements 220whp
I'll dig up dyno slips here soon.
the New Zealander thread I posted up a few post back reached 240+ w/ his B16.
My Twincharge setup has this S/C and a HE351ve on it now w/ 1200cc inj. I can hit 30+psig (max out my boost gauge) @ 7k revs.
No Dyno results on that setup yet.
My turbo oil drain is leaking a bit and the dyno near me wants it fix before I can put it on for the numbers.

Do you have internals on your set up? 30 PSI seems very high (I know it's all relative) to push stock internals. Whats your estimated HP on the twincharge set up?

Oh. Didn't know he went that high with the B16. I assume the B18C went higher since he said it was the highest HP. I couldn't see any of the pictures on his thread though, so I didn't see the dyno graphs.

Twincharge setup 425ish max. (b/c turbo size) but I expect it to be lower in the 350whp due to altitude (5100ft and wear and tear on the turbo, needs a a rebuild)
Thinking of building full forge internals and Darton sleeves in the next couple years.
The original S/C setup was on a stock z6 setup and it was awesome maxing out the 450cc inj.

Re: Trying to find supercharger for mini me/not turbo
And my engine harness is the stock harness that came with the car... which was a d16y7. It just has a d15b8 wired in. So its an obd2 car with obd1 engine... I actaully have to hook up an o2 simulator to pass emissions because of the one o2. So with my setup what fuel arrangement would you go with... keep in mind not budget but oem... I would like to build this using as much oem parts as possible... so if I needed to get inj. I would go w probably the dsm injectors depending on easyness cause they are oem technically, ect... now I know I have to get some aftermarket parts to make it work properly like a front mount, ect... so just let me know a good path if u could...thanks

Re: Trying to find supercharger for mini me/not turbo
Could I just send it in to a company and get it retuned and/or what do I say to them to get it tuned for this sc... I've never dealt with tuning my own ecu for forced induction...

Re: Trying to find supercharger for mini me/not turbo
I don't know if you can chip the P2P. I don't think it will work because it's one of the annoying ECUs. A P28, P72, ect will all work. Just an OBD1 VTEC ECU with a socket. Or you can get a non-vtec ECU that is converted to VTEC with a socket also.

You need to have all the components ready and get a chipped ECU. You can turn the SC off since it has that option. Run it on a stock map. Go to the tuner, swap injectors, and let them tune it. It will cost a pretty penny. ~$500

Re: Trying to find supercharger for mini me/not turbo
I'm definitely interested in your results (so keep me in mind when you get it done ) with the HE351VE, as I have one laying around I've been wanting to use for some time... but I'll be using a pneumatic system to control the VGT system from a 2.5cm housing all the way up to the wide open, 23cm housing... (Holsets VGT system is technically VNT as it slides a nozzle ring that controls the size of the housing)

Re: Trying to find supercharger for mini me/not turbo
As promised here are the Dyno sheets from the two times I went to a dyno.
1st was in May '11
2nd was in May '12
I know the twincharge runs a lot better than those but never got to a dyno.
These sheets were from driving from Casper Wyo. to Lynnwood Wa. for RHMT meets.
Dynos are rare in my area, except those who support large diesels.

Those previa blowers look interesting.
What kinda specs on those things compared to say a Jackson racing bseries one?
Iirc, the m45 was what they used with the dseries.

Re: Trying to find supercharger for mini me/not turbo
That turbo dyno looks impressive given the size of the HE351VE, any idea on what you have the VGT/VNT arm set to as far as housing size? how far from full closed/open is it?
246hp/226tq is impressive for a d series in any format, even more so with a large turbo, shows the VGT system definitely has an improvement in the response/power curve. Especially when you consider you're making 200ft/lb before 5,000rpm
what pressure was the turbo dyno at?
