Hello guyz,

I'm from France and I own a 91' honda CRX VTEC type EE8.

I've finished to install my brand new turbo kit two days ago and I've got some technical problems with it :

When I'm running in the VTEC, the engine make some strange noise like Brrrr Brrr Brrr ???

If I switch of the vtec with my VAFC I can easily drive ... no noise, nothing special.

Maybe other guy had the same trouble as me please help !!!

Here is my setup :

Full turbo kit from Turbo Specialities (fit old integra with B17A engine)
Turbo : Garett T25BB,
2 more injectors from Valeo,
Aditional Injectior control Unit Turbo Specialities,
Boost controller Greedy Profec E01,
Apexi VAFC (flat map),
Low compression SRP pistons,
Scat hi beam rod,
Ferrea valve,
Stock ECU,
Stock cam gear.

I use the setup incude in the turbo kit for the Aditional Injectior control Unit, 7 PSI of boost, and 13° timing advance.

Please help me

 

describe the sound a little better if you can. Might be detonation

 

First I was thinking of about a detonation but my engine only make that noise when the VTEC goes on, and I only got 7 PSI of boost and I ad a lot of fuel to be sure ...

 

vtec demands more fuel so that might be why it could be leaning out, if it is. How fast is the Brrr Brrr Brrrr sound?

 

Today a guy told be that has I have CTR cams in my engine I have to ad some adjustable cam gear and tune my engine to delete my problem when the vtec is runing ...

What do you think about that ?
