Default tranny?

how much can the tranny take? my motor is a jdm d15b with a ex/si 5 spd tranny

i'm boosted on 8 pounds from a 14b turbo... my tranny whines through first really bad and when i grab second and drop the clutch i hear grinding and then my tires screech and i get going again... i have a ACT street/strip clutch which only has about 5k on it. so it's not the clutch.

i'm thinking about building the block with tuner toys rods, acl bearings, vitaras, npr rings, arp headstuds, and cometic headgasket. will a stock tranny be able to hold the power i put down?... lookin to put down about 250-300 to the wheels.

if not what am i lookin to spend on a tranny that will?

before u start worring about ur tranny blowing, ur gonna need alot more than 8lbs form a 14b.Ur gonna need alot more than a 14b no matter how many lbs ur running.

That also applies for building the engine.U will max out the power output from the turbo before u reach the limitations of ur engine.

Just make sure ur trans is in good condition, maybe start off by replacing ur current trans, it will safely handle upto 250-300.

But there is no definet number on what a trans can take, some blow them w/ stock motors and others run full race seasons on the stock trans w/ no problems.

Ur biggest issue is going to be ur differential, so replacing that w/ even a OBX LSD will be a huge improvment, and really the only thing u CAN do to a D trans thats reasonable in price/effectiveness.Also, make ur ur oil level isnt too high or too low and make sure u use good oil.
