Default Traction/Suspension Setups For High HP

I know this could be in two other forums, but I'm going to post it here and if a mod would like to move it then that's fine. I realize that traction and suspension could be in the same category but I figured to give them their own Q/A

Traction Questions

-What are you guys using to get the traction up? (traction bars, etc...)
-Modification to the engine bay? (stitch welding, etc...)
-Any other tips from the one's who know best?

Suspension Questions

-What suspension setups are you guys using? (coilovers, etc...)
-Modification to any of the components?
-Once again, any advice?

stock struts with 1000# springs, full-race traction bars 1.62 60ft on 25 8.7 13's and 1.8's on 235 60 14 MH dots. Have micky thompson 235 60 15 radials now. Car feels alot better than on the MH dots. But dont have any track time on them yet.. Car is 92 civic hatch with turbo b18c

the 2 trq mounts make a noticeable difference in wheelhop without making the car vibrate...
When you put the solid insert in the rear mount the car will shake more.

This should be one of the first things done to any honda...its very cheap and it will save you form breaking trq mounts left and right....36 shipped for the inserts....and the car mount jerk as much when you shift...

I have:

Skunk2 coilover/tokico blues
traction bars--A MUST HAVE!!
motor mount inserts
LSD
BFG Drag Radials

I used to have stock suspension and when I switched gears the car would go all over the place from the sway. Soon, I'm gonna step up to a stiffer suspension, Skunk2 coilover/tokico blues is just what I had laying around.

I have over 300whp, with stock axles, I launch the **** out of it a lot!!

Or you could just go to Pepboys or Autozone and get them for like 19.99 or 29.99 (I forget which it is). I agree though the inserts are a very cheap upgrade that make a huge difference.

I am not hearing you right. Should we get inserts for all mounts on the car (lower left tranny, lower right a/c bracket, top left and right, and rear)? And what brand is recommended?

u could get all the inserts, but the torque mounts (lower tranny bracket and ac bracket) have awesome results. U could just get the 2 inserts for torque mounts or InlinePRO sells solid ones not to sure on pricing ( i know inserts are ALOT cheaper) . http://www.inlinepro.com . Im using inserts in my car with no problems.

the 2 torque mounts make the biggest difference without the interior of the car vibrating....if you want to be hard core you can get all of them...but the car will vibrate like a ****... the 2 torque mounts and the rear insert are 36$ shipped and are well worth the money

Except I have yellows and the ST tq mount inserts also.
24.5x8.5x15 MT slicks on te-37s x2
BFG 225-50-15 radials on ITR wheel x2
Falken Azenis on ITR wheel x4
Nitto 215-40-17 on gtn's x4

Oh ya, and this little thing that wins races called SPEED BASED BOOST CONTROL.

If you are looking to upgrade from stock; first get the tq mounts, and then the LSD!
After that you can get all that other fancy stuff.

Tein SS coil-overs 8kg front springs, rear shocks have been revalved to handle 14kg rear springs. Front damping set 5 ckicks bakward from full stiff, rear set 6 clicks backward from full stiff. Quafie LSD. Rear springs are 14kg.

I don't make much power yet, but this setup is a good start.
