Traction Help
I know this is no new problem, just want to get an idea from your solutions.
When getting drag radials-
-how long will they last if they are used as daily drivers?
-i know you can "heat" them up at the track. but does "heating" them up on the street does it have the same effect?
-will i break anything luanching hard with them?

BWAHAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!
that is all.
seriously, don't ever use drag radials on the street. you will only have traction when the road conditions are perfect. if you get caught in the rain with drag radials on the street, you might as well call 911 to report an accident ahead of time.

Re: (EF8 D-UNIT)
For good traction the tried and true methods work.
Good suspension
Good clutch
LSD
Traction bars
The traction bars and good susp help a lot on wheel hop. I daily drive BFG's and race them every weekend. I have about 400whp, and I have STOCK axles, haven't broken one......yet........
The BFG's last me about 4, maybe 5 months tops.
Preloading the clutch when your about to launch is the key to not breaking stuff.
If you wanna go all out, there are also limit straps (search fools) I've heard they can be daily driven but aren't too happy about it. I do think they can be loosened for daily driving then tightened down for race time but I've had no experience with them.

Re: Traction Help (suxway)
preloading the clutch may also screw up the clutch pressure plate and flywheel...the bigger the sidewall of the tire the better off youll be

Dont mean to jack this thread, but how does a 225/50/15 sound on a 300-350hp civic hatch? Will traction be an major issue on the track or street?

I have never used the T1-S but its replacement the T1R I have road on since earlier this past summer. Still have lots of tread and there ability to hold the road in the turns is amazing. As for traction while drag racing, come on it's FWD of course we are going to have issues with anything besides slicks.

T1's were good tires. I had a few sets of them.
Drag radials dont really perform well for handling IMO. They wear out quick too. If you want a stickier DR type tire go with the Nitto. They wont hook like a BFG, but the wear is less and have stiffer sidewalls.
I still think the Azeni's is an all around awesome tire.

I'm curious as to how the Yoko's A035R in a 225 50 15 perform. I know it's an R compound that won't wear as fast a the BFG D/R and still be sticky, but I'm not sure if the hard side wall will hurt straight line performance...?

I had that exact tire on my 340 HP EM1, and i wasnt all that impressed. Handling was awesome, but straight line wasnt much better than some less expensive tires i have used in the past. They wore really fast too IMO
