He's talking about the TPS trick that forces the ECU into open loop whenever boost is present. It's basically a cool little trick that Rafe Jaffey invented to help cure tip-in detonation.

Do a search in the Forced Induction Integras archive on hostboard.com

If you can't find it, PM me....I think I have it saved somewhere.

Let me know how it works for you. I did the same trick a while back and could not make it work for the life of me. I would get a hesitation/miss right when it would go from 0-1psi of boost. It was fine from vacuum to 0 and 1psi on up, but right at the switch over it would hesitate/miss. No matter how much tuning I did I could not get rid of it......
I pulled it out and went with RC310 and a Cartech FMU and got it dialed in pretty well...

Let us know...

You need a pressure-activated switch first. JRSC's come with a switch that closes once you hit 1psi. The JRSC uses that signal to drive a relay that then puts a resistor into the TA sensor. The end result is that when you're boostin over 1psi, the ECU gets told that the air temperature is insanely cold. This adds fuel and prevents ignition retard.

The TPS hack uses the same pressure switch, a new relay and some resistors to do the same thing to the TPS signal. Under 1psi boost and the ECU gets the real TPS signal. Over 1psi boost and the ECU gets sent a simulated WOT TPS signal.

So whenever you're boosting over 1psi, the ECU goes into open loop, regardless of throttle position.

This keeps the ECU from fighting the FMU while under partial throttle boosting.

At 6psi boost, this mod made my car detonation free. No matter what I tried, I could not induce detonation. AT 10psi boost, it's not as effective, but it still helps.

So you still need check valves?
