Default top mount question

what would be the average height of a top mount? Does is vary from desing?
I have one but it seems shorter compared to others , but I never seen a top mount in real life, so then again i don't know.

all I can say is have fun with that wastegate placement… looks like you might run into boost creep issues .... but other than that it looks fine, who made that manifold?

put down the pipe

it comes off of the two runners where most do

Looks to me that someone else put a couple of extra bends from where it was originally.

WG placement sucks...think about the way the exhaust gasses have to go now to get to the WG......i smell boost creep issues in the future...

To answer the original question....Most manifolds are smaller in person than you'd think. I was really surprised how small mine was when i got it in the mail.

Just to put it in perspective, here's a pic of mine

if you just turn it around and point the dumptube the other way, you could play it off as a topmount...lol

im told (by the shop i puchased it from- slowmotion motorsports -here in columbus) that it is one of the first runs of H22 mani's that full-race made. i really have no info about it beyond that. it is a really, really nice piece and i got a great deal on it. i dont think you were calling BS or anything but the welds definately give it away as a Full-Race manifold.

I'd plan on changing the wg placement on that one now, before it goes in the car. If you have a decent sized turbo and exhaust, i think it's going to boost creep pretty bad.

but why would the placement of the wastegate like that, cause boost creep issues?

its pretty simple...... think of the way your exhaust is flowing. when you try to make it do a complete 180 and then travel that far before getting to the wastegate, that is where you are going to have boost creep. If you notice on most manifolds they don’t have wastegate placements that make that many turns and they aren’t that long……

never had any boost creep issues with that kind of wastegate placement on any of our other manifolds.

same manifold design used on spoolinmatts 690whp motor, 19sec beasts 630whp turbo LS, spoolinmatts 630whp turbo eg

if you want AC and PS, somethings gotta give

How about a dyno sheet of one of those at 8psi?
