Default Too rich, Now too lean, why??

Ive been driving around for a few months now waaay too rich my a/f gauge never left the green then, Yesterday i noticed my gauge started to go to the orange, and now it is in the red at all times. I pulled out my o2 sensor and it was very, very balck. my plugs were also black but were starting to turn white on the tips.
do you think its just a bad o2 sensor? i thought if my sensor went bad it would run rich, but maybe since my o2 is so black its sending a signal to the ecu telling it to lean out. Any thoughts??

Get a wide band 02 sensor and tune it. The 02 is black with gas, you can clean it off and see if it works, electric cleaner is what I used. Your pistons are also black, hope your not losing comp with to much gas.
