toggle switch for obd0-obd1 question???
i'm using blown90hatch's obd0-obd1 wiring conversion. it says to hook up a toggle switch to one of the wires in order to check codes. how does it work exactly and how would a toggle switch able you to check engine codes if it dosen't have a light?

I guess you could have asked the source...but here goes. All the wire needs is a grounded source to close the circuit. So when I say hook it to a toggle switch here is what it does.
You are driving....check engine light comes on..."hhmm...I am throwing a code...whats up. I will flip my handy toggle switch...read code that is flashing from the check engine light while I am driving. Code reads 101...remember from the helms that 101 is the code that means I am a stunna..."
Also, when you are not throwing any codes, the check engine light will be off. If you flip the toggle switch, the check engine light will come on and stay on because you closed the circuit and there are no codes.
Others just ground the wire when you throw a code. I like the toggle switch idea so you can check it while you are driving or whatever.
