timing for forced induction

Default timing for forced induction

i was told i should retard the timing 3 or 4 degrees at the distributor for my b16a with a drag gen 2 turbo kit. how exactly do i go about doing that? thanks

You'll need a timing light to check the actual timing, but to retard your base timing at idle, loosen the 3 12mm bolts holding the distributer to the head and rotate the housing towards you (away from the firewall). You can then check the timing with the corresponding marks on the crank pulley with the timing gun.
