how do I check my timing on my 97 lude

 

Ignition timing or crank/cam timing? Ignition timing is controled by the ECU on 5th gens so you dont have to worry about it but you could always check it with a timing light. For crank/cam timing you remove the timing covers which require some work.

 

jump the service connector
timing light.
