timing belt issues
Yea, thats no good. Check the gears for irregular wear. Any idea on the condition of the motor? I am assuming the valves are done
I've seen people tension timing belts with 2x4s and not do that. As long as all the parts are in the right place I seriously doubt its an install error. I would suspect a poorly machined part since you say everything is new. Are they factory parts?

well if its a b16 belt on a b18-c1 gsr it would be a bit smaller.. or your tentioning it too much some how, or its skipping teeth so much its grinding the inside of the belt away. How does the oem cam gear teeth look them selves?
i know on a gsr belt it has a 127 teeth and on a ls its 126. yeah when it was running the belt on the backside moved back and forth at the idol. then around 3 grand it would stop. they are good
