I've seen people tension timing belts with 2x4s and not do that. As long as all the parts are in the right place I seriously doubt its an install error. I would suspect a poorly machined part since you say everything is new. Are they factory parts?
yes i have bc valves, had the head ported and resurfaced. As for the bottom end crower rods, crank and cp pistons. water pump and gears are from honda new

if its the wrong size it woundnt even fit.

well if its a b16 belt on a b18-c1 gsr it would be a bit smaller.. or your tentioning it too much some how, or its skipping teeth so much its grinding the inside of the belt away. How does the oem cam gear teeth look them selves?

i know on a gsr belt it has a 127 teeth and on a ls its 126. yeah when it was running the belt on the backside moved back and forth at the idol. then around 3 grand it would stop. they are good

Actually gsr belts have 126 teeth and the gates number is t247rb. Just make sure you have the right belt.
