Default Timing belt cover melted... too hot?

The farthest front of my timing belt cover melted. I have my wastegate in front of it about 5 inches away. My EGT is at 1425 F at long (2+ hours) high speed (90mph) cruises. EGT is mounted at top of downpipe. Too hot??? Should I be worried?

id say its too hot and you should be worried, that reading is kinda hi for an EGT sensor thats mounted after the turbo on the downpipe. You gotta pic of your wastegate setup?

id only agree with this if the EGT sensor was located in the exhaust manifold about 1-1.5" away from exhaust port, since your sensor is in your downpipe, your true EGT is probably a couple hundred degrees hotter than what your seeing.
