Is this the race or street version? Or are both have the same timing marks?

I believe its the street version because It has the removable outer pulley

Don't forget to use the Set timing feature in the S300 software when setting base timing. You will need to enter youre base timing in S300, then set youre timing to match what you have entered in the S300 set timing option

S300 defaults to 16 base

Understand that....but when you actually change the timing you need to make sure that set timing feature is being used...its in essence the same thing as jumping the service connector on a non-S300 equipped car. When you get the S300 you no longer need to jump the service connector but the set timing feature needs be be used and have that pop-up showing while youre adjusting the distributor. if you dont do this you will not be setting base timing and it wont be syncd correctly

Not to bring this thread from the dead or anything... but could someone suggest what damper I should go with? I've seen the street and race versions of the ati. I know the race one has no PS or ac. I plan to make 400-500hp in a boosted setup. My bottom end is completely balanced. Rev limiter will be set between 9k and 10k. I just can't decide if I should get the street or race. B18a1 non VTEC. Full Brian Crower valve train. Wiseco pistons. Eagle rods. 9.6.1 compression. If that matters. Any help is appreciated.

Stock is fine is its in good shape. No reason to go full race for 500hp.

I have the street version and it is a very nice product

A combination of reasons.
Ls heads dont flow great
It takes a massive, unstreetable cam to make power that high
Ls rocker arms are garbage and tend to pop off at high rpms. I think even 9000 is way pushing it.

Look at vtec heads. The rocker arms are mounted to the head on a shaft. They will no under any circumstances come off without breaking.

Now look at an ls head. They just sit there, rattling around. Not a good choice for a high rpm engine.

I would stick to a max under 9000 if you want any chance of it living.

Also, with boosted engines, rpms arent as important. You can adjust the cams to shift the power band down, while getting power through boost.

You will not get to 10k rpm on an ls for one it won't make power that high and two you'll just pop all the rockers out and destroy the head/motor. 9000 rpm would be the absolute limit and that's providing you have a healthy oiling system and you check valve lash on the regular and don't let that motor live at 9k. 9k should be for drag racing ONLY where your at that rpm level for short periods of time. I would also check valve lash after any drag racing.

I've been revving mine out to 8750 everytime I go out, no issues yet knock on wood.

But my stock LS car had a rocker pop out just Daily driving one day, go figure lol

Lightning are you running a obd2 or obd1 vetch oil pump? The added oiling helps a lot. With obd1 ls pump I had to adjust rockers all the time revving to 8500. Once installed obd2 pump I kept checking them but rarely had to adjust

I'm fairly certain its OBD2.

Good info man. Im gonna set the rev limiter around 8900 just to be on the safe side. I've heard of the rocker arms popping off but I didn't know they were that bad about it. I've got and obd2 VTEC oil pump and baffled moroso oil pan. The head has been port and polished along with a 3 angle valve job.
