Default Time to turbo!!!!!!!!!

Well guys im finally tired of the stock *** d16y8 and its time to do some major modifications......but im in a jam. Here's the deal i have a virtually stock D16y8 its in good condition maybe do a minor build or a stock rebuild and good as new, and i have an LS motor swap that came with the car when i bought it(not in the car), not so good condition it needs a full rebuild and 2nd and 3rd gear are out of the tranny. i want to turbo one.....not sure if i want the power advantage of the b18 or the ease of the d16.......but i know i want major reliability out of either. what do u guys think?????

i think that a d16 build would be cheaper, but the ls would possibly make more power at lower boost levels, and the b-series would also make more power in the end if both engines were built to the same extent. i am going d-series because they can be had and minorly built for fairly cheap. is the car you will be building going to be a street car?

yeah its going to be a streetcar.....but i plan on takeing it to the track every now and then, as long as i get atleast 100 more hp than i have now and it still be reliable then ill be happy.

whichever engine you choose you will still have to rebuild it. If you can afford it I would suggest the B rebuild. Itll make more power. However an otherwise identical D series build could be a bit more torquey on the low end, but you could still have a better street machine with the B series if you keep the revs up on the street.
