The time has come......help me decide!!
Okay...the time has come to decide what type of nitrous setup I want to go for. Turbo is a little out of my league for now, an N/A D16 doesnt quite do it for me, so n2o has my name all over it.
I have a stock y8 block coming to me from canada, and a ported z6 head w/ crower springs and skunk2 retainers on its way too. I have about $1500 to play with, and a credit card to back me up if needed. What would be a decent nitrous setup? I read the big nitrous write-up in SCC this month, but Im still on the fence about what kit I want and how extreme I want to go. Should I build the bottom end and see how much I can squeeze, or play it safe and stick with the stock bottom and run a 50-75 shot?
The car is a daily driven 97 EX coupe, so its not a dedicated track car - I just want something that can keep up with or beat gsr's and v8 muscle cars. Just for fun, you know? Thanks in advance.....

Nitrous Express kits are really nice. I was running a 75 shot but that was on a LS motor. You shold be fine with a 50 shot on a stock bottom. You might want to look into a kit lik ZEX though, since it comes with some kind of management system that will monitor the fuel mixture so you dont lean out. Either way, I would look for a used kit because you should be able to pick up a complete kit for around 400. Just make sure the selonoids (spelling?) are good. Hope this helps.

Well since you ask...If you not a track racer and you daily driven, then I dont think Nos is a good idea for you...Cause Nos is open in wide open throd only....
In my opinion, you can build ur own custom turbo kit for about 1200...If you know how to install turbo and their parts, then you alset with power....With a 97 EX couple I dont think you can beat a v8 just 50/75 shot......
(urbo and get some money for shot)

... turbopanda internals (<$500 for rods and pistons)... should be good for more nitrous (or boost)... that leaves you with >$1000 for a decent nitrous kit (nx, nos, etc) or diy turbo setup... my .02...

Oh yeah!! Forgot about turbopanda!!
I think nitrous is a dope setup for the street - the power is there when you want it, its reliable (more so than a DIY turbo for sure), its inexpensive, and its FUN!
